How exciting when the images are so clear from listening to a piece. It kind of feels not quite finished even though the way the pianist played the final chords would indicate an end.
The guitar figures are apparent in the piano accompaniment. I love the piano’s role with the repeated notes. Thank you for posting it for us. Berganza’s performance of the Obradors could not be more dynamic, and I love the nonchalant way she presents obracors difficult song.

Sarah Brauer April 9, at It reminds me of Flamenco music, and I can see her move her shoulders slightly as if she’s controlling herself from breaking into Flamenco dancing. I enjoyed the rhythmic energy and drive of this music. Dylan Bunten April 9, at 9: The piano is very reminiscent of the guitar with the repetitions, and the singer uses her face very obraddors to interpret the text.
Some of the runs sound more pianistic than guitaristic, but the majority of the writing definitely sounds guitar inspired. She communicates so much with just her eyes. I wonder if the quickly repeated notes that are so difficult on the piano are an example of “punteado” as was described by Kimball in the reading.
The introduction of the piano was absolutely amazing it really built up the excitement for the piece.

Berganza has a lovely sense of line, and the soft stacatti sections almost feel like teasing.
